October Flash - Day 2

The Flash Fiction Project at Google+ has something new going on! There will be a visual prompt for every day in October, and I'm going to try to write a (very) short piece for it every day as well. Due to time zone differences, I'll try writing and posting mine early in the morning, so it's a day after the original post for me, but still the same for them.

Let the fun begin! Here is the prompt for today:

Adulthood had been perfect. No childish bullying, no cruel jokes, no bruises. Then Facebook had come, and with it the bullies from the past. Tim had accepted their friend requests assuming they had grown up as well, but he had been terribly mistaken.
The worst thing was the "poke"-function; it brought the humiliation back into his life. Good old Timmy, who could only poke, never pinch. Clumsy little Timmy, his fingers too fat to catch anybody's skin between his fingernails. Poor blue Timmy, with bruises all over his arms and legs where they had tried to "teach" him how to do it. He had never been able to defend himself back then, and he felt defenseless when they started doing it again.
Admittedly, it was only online this time, there were no real-life bruises. Tim wanted to concentrate on that, but the bruises on his soul were painful still. It got so bad he had to take some time away from it all. He rented a hut close to a beach, with no internet access, for a weekend. There, Tim learned to breathe again, he felt free once more. Then, it was only strength he was lacking. Strength to go back and deal with it.
Tim considered just staying there, abandoning job and home for this new freedom, until Sunday morning, when he found him on the veranda. With his new ally, he would finally be able to fight back!
Now, Tim looks forward to the school's reunion tomorrow.
Tomorrow, he will show them. Tomorrow, they will pay!
