October Flash - Day 23

The Flash Fiction Project at Google+ has something new going on! There will be a visual prompt for every day in October, and I'm going to try to write a (very) short piece for it every day as well. Due to time zone differences, I'll try writing and posting mine early in the morning, so it's a day after the original post for me, but still the same for them.

Let the fun begin! Here is the prompt for today:

"Hey! Remember that?" Josh held up a photo.
"Of course," laughed Jess. "We used to follow our shadows around, see where they took us."
"Yeah, and they almost always took us to Pablo's bar," said Gina.
"Oh, you were some hard drinking girls, ladies..." Josh shook his head with a smile.
"We should do it again," suggested Audrey. "Who knows where our shadows would lead us today?"
In an uproar of agreement, the group got up. Only Susan hesitated.
"Aren't we a bit old for that nonsense?"
"Not at first try! Right now, we really don't know where they would take us, do we?" - "We could find our next favourite pub!" - "Don't you want to be young again?" - "Why do you have to be so sensible?"
"It's my job!" Susan defended herself.
"Yes, with children. We are grown-ups, you don't have to be sensible around us."
"Oh, all right." She got up. "I just want you to know that you do look like children today."
Gina grinned. "That's the best part, isn't it? Young again for an evening!"
